Examination of literature for children and adolescents. The course explores oral and written language, visual forms and literary elements, while fostering an appreciation for a wide variety of literature. Students will respond to books critically and creatively. (1) Lecture: 3 hrs/wk. 1 Unit

CLST 241 Math Concepts in Elem Educ

An in-depth study of Mathematical concepts in Elementary Education with an emphasis on National and State Mathematic Standards. The course will require students to deepen their conceptual and procedural understanding in the areas of Number/Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Data Analysis/Probability and Problem solving.
