EDUC 250 Teaching and Learning

Study of the pedagogical, developmental and cognitive components of teaching and learning in diverse classrooms. Provides a deeper understanding of the learning and behavior of students as well as individual and group differences including special populations such as exceptional, gifted and at-risk learners. With a focus on PreK-12 learners students will be able to explore cognitive and linguistic development evaluate different teaching strategies and assess how well they facilitates and motivate learning. Examination of elementary and middle school science education curricular and instructional practices. Emphasis is placed on effective approaches to teaching, instructional materials, and student assessment.
