RELG 282 Augustine and His Legacy

In this course we read primary texts, discuss and work together orally and in writing on the critical interpretation of the formative Western theology of Augustine of Hippo and investigate its legacy through the time of the Reformation. In the process we reflect on how contemporary thinkers (beginning with ourselves!) appropriate, develop, critique, or extend this classical stance in modern projects of learning, inquiry, practice and/or devotion.
