Bio

Dr. Daniel Sarabia joined the faculty at Roanoke College in the fall of 2004. His primary teaching and research interests are in the areas of environmental sociology, social movements, comparative-historical sociology, and social inequality. Dr. Sarabia participates in the interdisciplinary Environmental Studies Program. His interest in social movements research has led to the publication of manuscripts in Sociological Spectrum and a project underway that explores collective identity within subcultures. He has presented his work at the professional meetings of the American Sociological Association and at regional conferences. Dr. Sarabia has served as a reviewer for Social Forces, Sociological Inquiry, Contemporary Sociology, and Sociological Spectrum. He is also currently the editor of Nature and Culture, an interdisciplinary journal affiliated with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig, Germany.
